Speaker is a device that converts electric signals to audible sound. A speaker takes the electrical signal and translates it back into physical vibrations to create sound waves. Speakers are offered in spectrum features for use in different heavy-duty applications. Speakers are used in boxes in various sound systems for use in theaters, home, entertainment and recreational club, pub, concert etc. In speakers a drivers produce a sound wave by rapidly vibrating a flexible cone and a diaphragm. The cone, usually made of paper, plastic or metal, is attached on the wide end to the suspension. The voice-coil is attached to the basket by the spider, a ring of flexible material. The spider holds the coil in position, but allows it to move freely back and forth. Various types of speakers are like Bi-pole, Di-pole, monopole or direct radiator, electrostatic, planar magnetic, flat panel etc. they are available in various power (watts), and wide range sensitivity rating etc. The industry is constantly experimenting with raw materials to improve speaker sound quality, frequency response, and power output. New technologies are being developed in the form of a direct-drive speaker that uses no cone.
